Dear LIFTKC,
Like many of you, I saw this article about a new organization that helped my friend, and one of KC's rising leaders, Chris Goode and his business Ruby Jean's Juicery. When I read it, I just had to connect with Brandon Calloway to learn more. I truly appreciate his efforts to start a non-profit solely focused on generating grants and propping up Black owned businesses in our urban core.
Also, like many of you, I strongly believe economic development "East of Troost" is a (if not "THE") critical piece to solving a lot of our community challenges. I've met with Brandon a few times, and I'm convinced he and the team he's built are going to do great things.
